If you have a WordPress powered site then here is a very simple trick to redirect your site (www.yourdomain.com/+) to your Google+ account or page. To do this all you need is a redirection plugin. Here is a simple redirection plugin (Link to URL/Post) for wordpress. I am using this plugin on my site and if you go to techxt.com/+ you will land into the Google+ page for this site.
Step by Step:
1. Install the Link to URL / Post plugin and activate it
2. From your site Dashboard goto Settings > Link to URL
3. On the plugin settings page, in the source field add + and in the destination field add your Google plus URL and save it.
4. All done. In your browser if you type yourdomain.com/+ it will be redirected to your Google+ account. Distribute your own Google+ short URL. Check out the image below.
In the same way I have also add short URL for my Facebook (techxt.com/fb) and Twitter(techxt.com/tw) account.
However if you have your own domain but you are not running your site on WordPress then you can edit the .htaccess (or create it if it does not already exists) file in the root folder of your website.
Add the below line to .htaccess:
Redirect 301 /+ https://plus.google.com/{yourId}
Replace the {yourId} with your Google+ ID.
