I think the plugin is working perfectly fine and when I click the fb share button, I see the post image and not any video image.
Just try to clear the cache plugin if you are using one.

I think maybe you understood...yes, the plugin is working to post to Facebook. But when I am trying to share a blog post, it posts on Facebook with a video "Play" button within the image on Facebook. It is supposed to show just the image (not a play button)..so when people hit the play button, they get an error..and are not going to my website to see the article...why is it showing a "play button"?
For me it does not show any play button on the image. Can you specify the post link for which you are getting the play button.
