It says 2.2.0 is activated but the latest one I can find to download is 1.7.1????

Fixed it by updating $eplink updating $plink as per an early forum post response. Still weird about the versions though...
Its really weird. 1.7.1 is the latest version. Well it might be that you may have made some changes to the plugin and did not wanted to get it updated automatically, so you might have changed the version. If you did not make any changes to the code then you can simply change the version to anything below 1.7.1 say 1.7 and you will soon be notified for an update, then update the plugin as usual.
Facebook made some changes last year for the like button code and they are only accepting absolute URLs in the code. $eplink is encoded version of the URL where as $plink is the absolute URL. I have made the changes to the plugin code but I guess you never got an updated due to the wrong version.
