Recently Google Pagerank got updated. Most notable fact is that now not a single website in this world has pagerank 10. There is no official confirmation but its most likely that Google updated the Pagerank algorithm too. Our guess is that the last pagerank update was not just a rank update which Google does once in 2 to 3 months but was also an algorithm update. Have a look at the Pageranks of top 10 websites as per Alexa.

So we can conclude that if 9 is the maximum page rank that you can get then even if your page rank remained constant after the latest update, you pagerank actually got increased as earlier say it was 2 out of 10 and now it is 2 out of 9 because now 9 is the maximum pagerank that you can get.
