Yesterday Google announced that Google Analytics will no longer report logged in user’s query data while reporting the organic search data. So what does it mean? It means that earlier if you look into your organic search analytics data you will find that it reports the search keyword or the query term used on Google to reach to your website. For all logged in users, Google will no longer report this keyword used to reach to your website. This is to secure the privacy of the logged in users.
Google said that this will effect only a small part of the query data. Though people will still be able to see the aggregate organic search query data with no change including visits from users who are not signed in.
Google said,
Protecting user privacy is important to us, and we want to take this opportunity to explain what the Google Analytics team is doing to help you continue measuring your website effectively in light of these changes.
