Excel keyboard shortcuts for beginners and power users

List of Excel keyboard shortcuts that will definitely ease and speed up your work.

Navigation

• CTRL + ( Up arrow / Down arrow / Right arrow / Left arrow) – Jump to first row / last row / first column / last column)
• CTRL + (Page up / Page down) – Jump between Sheets
• CTRL + Tab – Jump between Workbooks

Data Selection

• CTRL + Spacebar – Select current column
• SHIFT + Spacebar – Select current row
• CTRL + SHIFT + Spacebar – Select current data area.
• CTRL + SHIFT + ( Up arrow / Down arrow / Right arrow / Left arrow) – Jump and select upto first row / last row / first column / last column

Paste special values and Fills

• CTRL + D – Uses the Fill Down command to copy the contents and format of the topmost cell of a selected range into the cells below.
• CTRL + R – Uses the Fill Right command to copy the contents and format of the leftmost cell of a selected range into the cells to the right.
• Paste Special Values – ALT + H V V   OR   CTRL + ALT + V  then press V and Enter  
  

Autofilter

• CTRL + ALT + L – Toggle filter ( Add /Remove)
• ALT + D F S – Keep filter but show all rows
• ALT + Down arrow – Opens the filter selection drop down for a column
• ALT + Down arrow + E – Open drop down and go to search

Boarders

• CTRL + SHIFT + & – Apply outline border to the selected cells.
• ALT + H B A – Apply all borders to the selected cells.
• ALT + H B T – Apply thick border to the selected cells.

Others

• CTRL + ALT + F5 – Refresh all data
• CTRL + + – Insert Cell / Row
• CTRL + – Delete selected Cell / Row
