Hi I'm trying to use the php code in my default.php (homepage) to display the buttons.

However, my wordpress theme/wordpress itself keeps using the url of the most recent blog post, how can i force the php code to inject the homepage of my website instead.

I'm using the php code from this page…..e-plusone/

This plugin is strictly for post/pages etc. ( for dynamically generated contents ). If you want to use the code on static links then its better to use static code without PHP like you did. This will speed up your website.
